How to be a Manger and Love It!
Include employees in the decision making process, especially when it involves something they’ll be closely involved in. Give them ownership, and the reward will be a fulfilled employee, and a positive work environment.
When our employees are content, our job is so much easier! We need to feel fulfilled as managers also. We need to be satisfied and happy, and feel that we are doing a great job!
One of my most rewarding experiences was when an employee expressed to me her appreciation. She was close to retirement, and had worked in various positions and locations, including supervising others. She had a lot of exposure to many different managers. She told me “You are the best boss I have ever had!”
That made my day!
